Journaling for Preschoolers

Pinky loves school. So much so that she thinks she should have homework too. Since her preschool doesn't send home work for the kids, I had to come up with something else to satisfy her desire.

I bought a few Melissa and Doug Storytelling Paper Pads when they were on sale on Amazon.



Whenever she feels like it (I don't push it as I don't want to burn her out), she will draw a picture of her favorite part of the day and write a sentence to describe it. She's having fun and practicing her writing and spelling. Sounds like a win/win to me!

Today, she wrote a story for me. I spelled the words for her, but she did all the work herself. She used her real name in the story so I had to blur that out, but I think you can still see the rest pretty well.



It reads: "Pinky the princess saves Pinky the fairy." Sounds like a best seller to me!
